ROCKAWAY BOROUGH, NJ — A 38-year-old man has been arrested on charges of possessing and distributing child sex abuse material, authorities announced.
Armando W. Nogueira, of Rockaway Borough, was initially charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child for possession of child sex abuse material on Nov. 15.
Additional charges were filed on Nov. 21 alleging one count of endangering the welfare of a child for distribution of child sex abuse material, a second-degree crime.
The investigation began after a witness reported observing media files allegedly depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors on Nogueira’s phone.
An investigation found that Nogueira allegedly possessed numerous videos and images of child sex abuse material.
Nogueira has been detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings pursuant to the Criminal Justice Reform Act.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Rockaway Borough Police participated in the investigation.
