Man charged with forcible touching in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A 76-year-old man was arrested on a forcible touching charge after police responded to a call about a person in distress.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a location on the west side at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Nov. 29 to assist Jamestown Fire and EMS after receiving a report of a man shivering in the cold.

Upon investigation, officers learned the man was accused of forcibly touching the intimate parts of a male victim.

Officers conducted a show-up procedure, through which the victim confirmed the identity of the suspect as James Bello, of Jamestown.

Bello was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged with one count of forcible touching.

He was released on an appearance ticket in accordance with New York State bail reform laws.
