EVERETT, MA — Police arrested a Chelsea man Wednesday following a months-long undercover investigation that resulted in the largest single-case money seizure in the department’s history.
Jendry Morales, 60, of Chelsea, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with several narcotic-related offenses, according to Police Chief Paul D. Strong.
Detectives from the Special Criminal Investigations Unit executed search and arrest warrants at several locations Wednesday.
Search warrants were granted for a residential address in Chelsea and another in Saugus.
The searches resulted in the seizure of one firearm, approximately 1.5 kilograms of suspected cocaine and approximately $1.5 million in U.S. currency.
The Everett and Peabody K9 units, the Saugus Police Department and the Chelsea Police Department assisted in the investigation.
