VENTNOR CITY, NJ — Police are searching for a driver who struck a pedestrian and fled the scene Thursday evening.
Ventnor City Communications received multiple 911 calls at 6:16 p.m. reporting a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle at Ventnor and Newport avenues.
Callers reported the striking vehicle had fled westbound on Ventnor Avenue.
Officers arrived to find a man lying in the roadway.
The 92-year-old Ventnor City resident sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a white Volvo SUV, possibly a model XC40.
The vehicle should have possible front passenger side damage.
