Fire reported at Greenidge Station in Dresden

DRESDEN, NY — Firefighters responded to a structure fire at Greenidge Station late Sunday night.

The Yates County 911 Center received a report of a fire at 590 Plant Rd at 11:15 p.m. on Nov. 23.

Yates County Sheriff’s deputies responded along with the Dresden Fire Department and found a fire inside the facility.

The fire was contained to a small area of the building due to a quick response from the Dresden Fire Department with mutual aid from Penn Yan Fire Department, Himrod Fire Department, West Lake Road Fire Department and the Yates County Office of Emergency Services.

The Yates County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene after the fire was extinguished to assist in investigating the cause.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Facility staff are cooperating with the Fire Investigation Team to determine the cause.

The facility remains shut down until appropriate repairs can be made.

There is no indication of foul play at this time.

Penn Yan Ambulance also responded to the scene.
