Man arrested on sexual abuse charges in East Syracuse

EAST SYRACUSE, NY — The New York State Police arrested Denzel M. Williams, 25, of East Syracuse, following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a juvenile victim.

On November 18, investigators from the Troop D Computer Crimes Unit received a report indicating that an 8-year-old victim was depicted in uploaded child sexual abuse material.

An investigation determined that Williams, who was known to the victim’s family, had engaged in sexual acts with the victim at a residence in the village of East Syracuse.

A search warrant was executed at the residence as part of the investigation.

Williams was arrested on November 19 as a result of a collaborative effort by the Computer Crimes Unit, Special Investigations Unit, Troop D BCI SP North Syracuse, and Homeland Security Investigations.

He was charged with two counts of rape in the first degree, two counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, and two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

Williams was processed at SP North Syracuse and transported to Onondaga County for arraignment.
