CAIRO, NY — Two New York State Police troopers were struck by a passing vehicle while conducting a traffic stop on Route 23 on Nov. 17.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. in the town of Cairo.
The troopers were assigned to State Police Catskill.
Both troopers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the troopers was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The incident remains under active investigation.
