Child struck by school bus dies in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A 4-year-old girl died after being struck by a school bus Monday morning.

Leanna Herrera was hit by a Panama Central School District bus at the intersection of Cole Avenue and Whitehill Avenue at about 8:08 a.m., according to the Jamestown Police Department.

She was transported to UPMC Chautauqua at WCA Hospital where she died from her injuries.

No charges have been filed against the bus operator at this time.

All parties involved in the incident have been cooperative with the investigation, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
