PARAMUS, NJ — A Hackensack woman has been arrested on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child after authorities say she had prior knowledge of sexual assaults against a juvenile and allowed them to continue.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Jennifer Garcia-Mota, 42, of Hackensack.

The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Hackensack Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Antista.

In early November, the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in the past.

The investigation revealed that Garcia-Mota had prior knowledge of the assaults occurring and allowed them to continue.

On Friday, Garcia-Mota was arrested in Paramus and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Garcia-Mota was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
