PURLING, NY — A 31-year-old man has been arrested on arson charges following an investigation into a structure fire last month.
Daniel J. Mcinnes, of Purling, was charged with arson in the fourth degree, reckless damage, a class E felony, according to the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Catskill.
The investigation began on Oct. 17 at approximately 8:30 a.m., when troopers from the Catskill barracks responded to a report of a structure fire at a residence on Mountain Avenue in Purling.
During a joint investigation with the Greene County Fire Investigation Team, investigators determined that the fire was intentionally started within a bedroom inside the apartment.
No one was at the residence at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Mcinnes was arrested and charged on Nov. 5 and was processed without incident at State Police Catskill barracks.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Cairo Town Court on Nov. 18 at 2 p.m.
State Police were assisted by the Greene County Fire Investigation Team and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
