DELHI, NY — A Delhi man was arraigned in Delhi Town Court on Oct. 29 on multiple charges stemming from an investigation into a false police report.
David W. Gensler, 51, of Delhi, was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the 3rd degree, offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st degree, tampering with physical evidence, conspiracy in the 5th degree, aggravated harassment in the 2nd degree, and perjury in the 2nd degree.
According to the Delhi Village Police Department, an investigation determined that Gensler filed a false complaint against a contractor, submitted false written statements, and fabricated evidence to support his accusations.
The false claims resulted in the wrongful arrest of another individual, who has since been cleared of all charges.
Gensler is currently held without bail at the Delaware County Jail on unrelated charges.
