FANWOOD, NJ — Fanwood Police are investigating a motor vehicle collision that sent multiple people to area hospitals Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to Forest Road Park at approximately 10 a.m. for a reported crash.
Upon arrival, police found multiple victims and a utility pole that had been struck and knocked down.
Union County EMS, paramedics and the Fanwood Fire Department responded to provide emergency medical assistance.
Multiple patients were transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Newark, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick and Overlook Hospital in Summit for treatment.
PSEG was called to the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fanwood Police Department with assistance from the Union County Police Department.
The parking lot of Forest Road Park is currently closed, but street parking remains available to access the polling location.
