HYDE PARK, NY — A multi-agency drug investigation led to the arrest of a 63-year-old man and the seizure of cocaine, fentanyl and two illegal loaded handguns, authorities announced.
Tyrone K. Haskins, of Hyde Park, was arrested Oct. 29 in the Town of Poughkeepsie without incident following an investigation by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force.
Drug Task Force agents began investigating after developing intelligence about a suspected dealer selling narcotics in Dutchess County.
Agents identified Haskins as the individual allegedly distributing narcotics and conducted multiple purchases from him during the investigation.
Following his arrest, agents executed a search warrant at Haskins’ residence at 2 Garden Street in the Town of Hyde Park.
The search resulted in the seizure of large quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, drug packaging materials, U.S. currency, digital scales and other items associated with the sale and distribution of narcotics.
Two illegal loaded handguns were also seized, including one stolen from North Carolina, along with a bulletproof vest.
Haskins was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree, one count of criminal possession of weapon 3rd degree, one count of criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree.
He was arraigned in the Town of Hyde Park and remanded to Dutchess County Jail with no bail.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau, Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, City of Beacon Police Department, Town of Hyde Park Police Department, Town of East Fishkill Police Department and Town of Fishkill Police Department assisted in the investigation.
