GUILDERLAND, NY — State Police arrested three New Jersey men early Sunday morning after a traffic stop on Interstate 90 led to the discovery of an illegally possessed loaded handgun and high-capacity magazine.
Saadiq A. King, 25, of Atco, New Jersey, Kharie G. Orange-Blakney, 26, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Paris J. Taylor, 21, of Camden, New Jersey, were each charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
King and Taylor were also charged with vehicle and traffic law violations.
Troopers stopped a vehicle on the I-90 Thruway in Guilderland at about 1:59 a.m. for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
Taylor was identified as the driver, with King and Orange-Blakney as passengers.
During the investigation, with assistance from State Police K9 “Ash,” troopers located the weapons.
All three individuals were arrested at the scene and transported to State Police Albany for processing.
King, Orange-Blakney and Taylor were arraigned at Guilderland Town Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond or a $75,000 partially secured bond.
