WESTPORT, MA — Four men were arrested at a local hotel Monday after staff discovered a bag of suspected drugs in the lobby.
Officers were dispatched to the Hampton Inn at 53 Old Bedford Road at approximately 1:49 p.m. Oct. 27.
Hotel staff reported an individual staying at the hotel had dropped the bag of suspected drugs in the lobby.
After officers arrived, surveillance video showed four individuals looking around the lobby and in trash receptacles for the item they had dropped.
Staff directed officers to one of two rooms the individuals had rented.
Officers made contact with Alexander Rebelo of East Providence, Rhode Island; Andrew Massey of Middletown, Rhode Island; Robert Noble of Fall River; and John Taylor III of Westport, who were all located in the same room.
Officers observed clothing in the room matching the description of the individual who had dropped the drugs in the lobby.
When questioned about the item they were looking for, the men stated they had lost a cell phone.
A query of the four individuals revealed Rebelo, Massey and Noble had active warrants for their arrest.
Statements were made indicating Taylor had sold drugs to one of the men.
All four men were placed under arrest.
While being transported to the station for booking, Noble and Taylor stated they were having medical issues and were transported to the hospital for evaluation.
While at the hospital, Taylor was searched and found to be in possession of 37 grams of suspected methamphetamine, more than 30ml of liquid GHB, three Suboxone strips, along with three blue tablets and seven white tablets which were unidentifiable.
During booking, Rebelo was found to be in possession of 8 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Rebelo was booked and released on personal recognizance.
Massey was booked and transported to the Bristol County House of Correction and held on his warrant.
Noble was arraigned at the hospital after being admitted.
Taylor was transported to the Bristol County House of Correction and held on $25,000 bail.
Rebelo was charged with a straight warrant from Attleboro District Court for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, alcohol in a motor vehicle, possession of open container, possession of Class B drugs, possession of Class B drugs (Suboxone), conspiracy to violate drug law and receiving stolen property under $1,200.
Massey was charged with a straight warrant from Fall River District Court for violation of an abuse prevention order.
Noble was charged with a default warrant from Taunton District Court for possession of Class B drugs, and three counts of possession of Class E drugs.
Taylor was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking methamphetamine in 36 grams or more but less than 100 grams, possession of Class A drugs (GHB), possession of Class B drugs (Suboxone film strips), possession of Class E drugs and conspiracy to violate drug law.
