Man arrested on contempt charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A man was arrested after police observed him with a person protected by a stay-away order.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon were conducting a street check on the west side of town at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 24.

During the process of taking another individual into custody, officers observed Ralph R. Patterson III inside a residence with a person with whom he had an active stay-away order of protection.

Patterson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

He is being charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree.

Patterson is being held at the Jamestown City Jail pending his arraignment.
