SPRINGFIELD, MA — A traffic stop led to the seizure of a loaded ghost gun and the arrest of a 24-year-old man Friday evening.
Members of the Springfield Police Neighborhood Stabilization Bureau were in the area of Broad Street and Hall of Fame Avenue at approximately 5:40 p.m. Oct. 24 when they observed a driver commit a marked lanes violation.
The driver, later identified as Bernamaxin Lebron-Sierra, pulled into a gas station where officers conducted a traffic stop.
Officers observed Lebron-Sierra holding an inflated balloon and inhaling it.
Officers approached the vehicle and observed suspected nitrous oxide containers.
Inside the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded ghost gun and crack cocaine.
Lebron-Sierra, of Feeding Hills, was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a convert/undetectable firearm, possession of a Class B drug, possession of a Class C drug, operating under the influence of drugs, inhaling a toxic substance, marked lanes violation and registration not in possession.
