LATHAM, NY — A retired New York State Police trooper was arrested Friday on a felony grand larceny charge following a long-term investigation into the misappropriation of union funds.
Thomas H. Mungeer, 56, of New York, was arrested at Troop G Headquarters on Oct. 24.
State Police said the investigation determined that between March 5, 2018, and Oct. 4, 2022, Mungeer misappropriated union funds for personal use and expenses while serving as president of the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association.
Mungeer was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony.
He was arraigned before Judge Thomas Marcelle in Albany City Court and released pending his next court appearance.
Mungeer is scheduled to appear in Albany County Superior Court on Dec. 1 at 9:30 a.m.
