Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Ontario

ONTARIO, NY — New York State Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian at Bill Gray’s restaurant on State Route 104 on Oct. 23.

Troopers from SP Williamson responded to the scene at approximately 1:03 p.m. after receiving a report that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian and a building.

Upon arrival, troopers found a male pedestrian who had sustained injuries to his lower body.

He was transported by Wayne County Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a dark-colored Ford pickup truck drove around the side of the building, striking the pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

Following a coordinated investigation with responding troopers and assistance from the Webster Police Department, the suspect vehicle and driver were located a short time later in the town of Webster.

The operator, Jessie Adams, 45, of no permanent address, was taken into custody without incident.

Adams was issued multiple traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Ontario Court at a later date.

The New York State Police were assisted on scene by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Ontario Fire Department, Wayne County EMS and the Webster Police Department.
