HACKENSACK, NJ — A 19-year-old man has been arrested on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Jonathan D. Veloz, of Hackensack, was taken into custody Friday after members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at his residence.
The investigation revealed that Veloz used the internet to view, download and possess items depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.
Veloz was charged with third-degree possession of child pornography and remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.
The investigation was conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck.
The Hackensack Police Department, New York City Police Department and Waldwick Police Department, which participates in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force, assisted in the investigation.
