BRISTOL, CT — Two Waterbury residents were arrested yesterday afternoon following a vehicle chase that ended with the seizure of suspected narcotics and cash.
Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Riverside Avenue when it fled, according to the Bristol Police Department.
Officers deployed stop sticks that eventually disabled the vehicle.
During the pursuit, the occupants threw a book bag out the window, which was later recovered by police.
After a brief foot pursuit, officers took Tyrek Middleton and Nigeria Minchenko, both of Waterbury, into custody.
Officers seized 1,759 bags of suspected fentanyl, 40 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of crack cocaine, 12 oxycodone pills and more than $2,100 in cash.
Minchenko posted bond and is due in court next month.
Middleton is currently on parole for several other narcotics convictions and was remanded.
Citizens who contacted police after seeing the suspects flee from the vehicle helped officers apprehend them, according to the department.
