BLEEKER, NY — A Gloversville man faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police and crashing his vehicle on Oct. 8.
State Police, with assistance from the Gloversville Police Department and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Zachary M. Bailey, 33, of Gloversville.
Bailey is charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
At about 11:32 a.m., members of the Gloversville Police Department reported a vehicle pursuit after a driver failed to comply with a traffic stop in the area of North Main Street in Gloversville.
State Police assisted with the pursuit of the vehicle operated by Bailey.
During the pursuit, Bailey allegedly recklessly operated his vehicle, violating numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
Bailey subsequently lost control of his vehicle in the area of County Route 112 in Bleeker and crashed off the roadway.
After crashing, Bailey fled on foot and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
Bailey was transported to Nathan Littauer Hospital in Amsterdam, then airlifted to Albany Medical Center for injuries he sustained during the crash and symptoms related to a suspected overdose.
He was processed at State Police Fonda on Oct. 12 upon being released from the hospital.
Bailey was then transported to the Fulton County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
