SODUS — Firefighters extinguished a structure fire at a multi-family dwelling in eight minutes Tuesday afternoon, preventing the blaze from spreading throughout the building.
Sodus Fire Rescue was dispatched to the fire at 1:22 p.m.
The first officer arrived on scene at 1:26 p.m. and confirmed a working fire on the Charlie side of the building.
The fire engine made the hydrant connection at 1:27 p.m.
Crews confirmed the fire was extinguished and were hitting hot spots by 1:30 p.m.
Sodus Fire worked alongside Wallington Fire and East Williamson Fire departments to contain the blaze.
Only one family was displaced due to smoke and water damage.
The fire did not spread into the main dwelling area of the building.
