HINGHAM — A 17-year-old from Holbrook was arrested early Oct. 3 after police say he and another suspect entered approximately 60 unlocked vehicles in a residential neighborhood.
Officers responded to Pilgrim Road in the Liberty Pole neighborhood at 12:48 a.m. after a resident reported seeing two men breaking into cars in their driveway.
Police established a perimeter with assistance from Norwell Police and a Hingham K9 unit while a drone unit officer launched a drone to search the area.
The drone located two suspects on another street, and both fled when officers approached.
One suspect was arrested while the second remained at large.
All of the vehicles that were entered had been left unlocked, according to police.
Some cars were rummaged through with nothing taken, while items stolen from other vehicles included a laptop, house keys, car fob keys, coins and cash.
An electric scooter was also taken from a driveway.
The juvenile’s name was not released due to his age.
He faces several counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, disturbing the peace and conspiracy.
The teen was released to his parents and will be arraigned at Hingham Juvenile Court at a future date.
