BOSTON — Two juveniles were arrested on firearm-related charges after officers recovered a high-capacity weapon during a traffic stop in Dorchester early Tuesday morning.
Officers assigned to District B-2 arrested a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old female following the incident on Sept. 16.
At approximately 2:01 a.m., officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at the intersection of Dewey Street and Dacia Street.
The vehicle then pulled over in front of 67 Dacia Street, prompting officers to activate their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a stop.
As officers approached the vehicle, they noticed the rear passengers making movements before abruptly stopping upon seeing them.
Based on their observations, officers issued an exit order for all occupants of the vehicle.
Upon removing the rear driver’s side passenger, officers discovered a high-capacity feeding device in his right jacket pocket.
A subsequent search of the rear middle passenger led to the recovery of a firearm on her person.
The firearm was identified as an Intratec Miami Fla 9MM Luger Tec-9 equipped with a large-capacity feeding device.
No ammunition was found.
The two suspects are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges including unlawful possession of a machine gun, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and unlawful possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
