LOWELL — The Lowell Police Department responded to a report of an individual possibly armed with a firearm on Sept. 3, just before 2:30 p.m.
Patrol officers immediately responded and began searching the area.
The department deployed its Unmanned Aircraft System along with the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing to assist in the search.
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to assist, including numerous police K9 units, Massachusetts State Police troopers, the NEMLEC SWAT Team, UMass Lowell Police, LNHP Law Enforcement Rangers, the FBI and ATF.
Police said they are aware of video circulating on social media and obtained the video upon arrival at the scene.
At no time was this an active shooter situation and there is no evidence of shots fired, according to police.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Police have not confirmed whether a weapon was involved.
