LOWELL — A Troy man was injured Saturday morning when his car struck a bridge abutment on Route 58.
Donald Champiginy, 41, was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion eastbound on Route 58 just west of Buck Hill Road at approximately 11:46 a.m. when he struck the bridge abutment, according to State Police.
The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage.
Champiginy was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
He was transported to North Country Hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
A front-seat passenger, who was also unbelted, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Road conditions were wet gravel and weather was cloudy with rain at the time of the crash.
Lowell Fire and Newport EMS assisted at the scene.
