Fulton County sees 40 arrests in two-week period, sheriff’s office reports

JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reported handling 466 incidents and making 40 arrests between August 1 and August 14, according to a bi-weekly press release issued Friday.

The incidents included 15 animal complaints.

There were six burglaries.

Two criminal contempt reports were filed.

Three criminal mischief complaints were received.

Deputies handled 14 disorderly conduct cases.

There were 16 domestic violence complaints.

One drug overdose was reported.

Three DWI arrests were made.

There were two frauds.

Eight larcenies occurred.

Three menacing complaints were reported.

Ten mental health complaints were handled.

Deputies investigated two missing persons.

There were 30 motor vehicle accidents.

Ninety traffic stops were conducted.

Three trespassing complaints were received.

Ten welfare checks occurred.

Among the arrests, Jamal L. Decoteauhird, 28, of New York City, was charged in Johnstown with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony.

Pearce J. O’Rourke, 20, of Gloversville, was charged in Johnstown with operating a motor vehicle while registration was suspended.

Chad L. MacVean, 38, of Johnstown, was charged in the town of Johnstown with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, an A misdemeanor; aggravated family offense, an E felony; and criminal contempt in the second degree, an A misdemeanor.

Matthew T. Kortz, 49, of Gloversville, was charged in Broadalbin with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, an E felony; aggravated DWI, an E felony; and DWI: previous conviction within 10 years, an E felony.

Jacob R. VanNostrand, 54, of Mayfield, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Mayfield Town Court.

Ralene M. Yarbrough, 39, of Schenectady, was charged in Perth with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

Michael D. Hart, 39, of Manheim, was charged in Oppenheim with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, an A misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, an A misdemeanor.

August Acquasanta, 57, of Schenectady, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Fulton County Family Court.

Nicholas B. Hughes, 20, of Johnstown, was charged in Perth with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and aggravated DWI with a child passenger under 16, an E felony.

Isaac J. Berg, 26, of Gloversville, was charged in Johnstown with failure of a sex offender to report or change address or status within 10 days, an E felony.

The report included additional arrests relating to drug offenses, unlicensed operations, DWIs, assaults, criminal contempt, and warrants from various agencies and courts.
