U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Omar Marrero was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti stated that investigators conducted controlled purchases of cocaine from Marrero in November 2023.

Marrero utilized an English Street residence to conduct his drug trafficking activities.

On Dec. 13, 2023, a search warrant and federal probation warrant were executed at a Crescent Street residence.

Investigators seized $686 in cash, an iPhone, and approximately 42 grams of cocaine during the search.

A second search warrant was executed the same day at the English Street residence.

Investigators seized $2,267 in cash, approximately 168 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia from that location.

Marrero was on supervised release for a prior federal conviction when he was taken into custody.

The investigation was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces operation.
