WEATHERSFIELD — A 31-year-old Lebanon woman was arrested Sunday evening on drug impairment and heroin possession charges after being found unresponsive behind the wheel of her vehicle.
Britini M. Fleming was taken into custody at 6:39 p.m. on Reservoir Road after Windsor County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a female driver passed out in a locked vehicle that was still in gear.
The Ascutney Volunteer Fire Department administered one dose of Narcan to Fleming and removed her from the vehicle upon arrival.
Fleming showed signs of impairment and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, according to Det. Sgt. Richard King.
Fleming turned over seven and a half bags of purple heroin to authorities.
She was transported to Springfield Hospital for treatment and was later screened for drug impairment by a Drug Recognition Expert from the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.
Blood was taken as evidence during the investigation.
Fleming is charged with DUI-drugs and possession of heroin.
She is scheduled to appear in Windsor County Court on Sept. 30 at 8:30 a.m.
