NORTHFIELD — A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle left the roadway on Union Brook Road near Bean Road Friday night.
Vermont State Police responded to the single-vehicle crash at 8:21 p.m.
The operator was identified as Dustin Herring of Northfield.
Investigation determined Herring’s 2020 Ford F-150 drifted over the fog line before leaving the roadway and crashing.
The vehicle sustained front-end damage.
Herring was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Weather conditions were clear with dry blacktop road conditions at the time of the crash.
While speaking with troopers, Herring provided false information, police said.
Further investigation determined Herring was impaired.
Herring was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and providing false information to a police officer.
He was issued a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court – Criminal Division.
