Jamestown man arrested on parole warrant after fleeing police

JAMESTOWN — Officers of the Jamestown Police Department were working a saturation patrol detail in the area of Fulton St. and E. 8th St. on Aug. 11 at about 4:41 p.m.

While on patrol officers observed Alexis Lopez, 42, outside an address on E. 8th St. and were aware Lopez had an outstanding New York State Parole warrant.

Officers approached Lopez and advised him he was under arrest.

Lopez refused to comply, and attempted to run inside the residence to avoid being taken into custody.

Officers chased Lopez in the house and were able to take him into custody.

He was additionally arrested for Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and Resisting Arrest.

Lopez was issued an appearance ticket for the new charges due to bail reform and held in the city jail on his New York State Parole warrant.
