BOWDOINHAM — Maine State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 295 on Sunday, Aug. 10.
Multiple reports of a fire were reported at approximately 4:06 p.m. on Interstate 295 at mile 37 southbound.
Responding units found a vehicle off the roadway in the median where the fire was located.
The preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle, driven by an adult male, was traveling southbound when it left the roadway and entered the median.
The vehicle struck several trees at a high rate of speed and caught fire.
The driver has been identified as Nicholas Disy, 52, of Milford, Pennsylvania.
He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
