SHAFTSBURY — A 69-year-old man was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct following a reported sexual abuse incident.
Arthur Mattison of Shaftsbury turned himself in to the Vermont State Police on Aug. 8.
The investigation began after a female victim reported the alleged abuse to detectives on Aug. 5.
Mattison was released on his own recognizance after his arraignment.
He is scheduled to appear in Bennington Superior Court on Aug. 11 at 12 p.m.
