PENN YAN — Tino M. Rivas, 52, was arrested by Penn Yan Police Monday afternoon on East Elm Street.
Rivas was known to be wanted by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office for an arrest warrant and he was observed walking on East Elm St.
Police attempted to take Rivas into custody on the warrant and Rivas physically resisted arrest.
Rivas was transported to the Penn Yan Police Department where he was turned over to the custody of the Yates County Sheriff.
Rivas was subsequently charged by Penn Yan Police with resisting arrest and arraigned on the charge in Yates County CAP Court.
