DeWitt police seize drugs, gun in traffic stop leading to arrests

EAST SYRACUSE — A DeWitt police officer conducted a traffic stop on Bridge Street at about 8:37 p.m. on Aug. 7.

The driver, Michael P. Delaski, 33, of Syracuse, was found to have a suspended license and was arrested.

Officers located 2.8 grams of heroin, 17 12mg buprenorphine films, 22.9 grams of cocaine, cash, multiple cellphones and narcotics packaging in the vehicle.

Delaski was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third, fourth and seventh degrees, as well as criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

Passengers John Defio, 42, and Amanda L. Vittorio, 32, both of Syracuse, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth and seventh degrees.

A subsequent search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Lemoyne Avenue in Syracuse yielded 282.5 grams of heroin, 87.9 grams of cocaine, 2.2 grams of MDMA, a loaded .22 LR revolver, brass knuckles, electronic scales, drug packaging materials and a non-ballistic police vest.

Delaski faces additional charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first, third and fourth degrees, aggravated criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a weapon in the second and fourth degrees, and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

Delaski, Defio and Vittorio were taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center to await arraignment.
