2 arrested in Jamestown car break-in after credit card used at convenience store

JAMESTOWN — Two men were arrested late Monday after police say they broke into a vehicle downtown and stole a woman’s purse.

Officers responded to a larceny from vehicle report in the downtown area around 11:53 p.m. Monday.

Police learned the victim’s purse and contents were taken from her vehicle.

An individual attempted to use the victim’s credit card at the 7-Eleven on North Main Street shortly after the theft, leading officers to suspect Conner A. Dale, 18.

Dale was located by officers at his residence on the west side of the city.

Dale was found to be in possession of Apple AirPods that were taken from the victim.

Officers learned that another male was possibly in possession of more of the stolen property.

Police located William E.L. Blakey, 37, on the north side of the city.

Blakey was found to be in possession of the purse.

Both Dale and Blakey were taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Dale is charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth and fifth degrees.

Blakey is charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

Both are being held pending arraignment.
