COLCHESTER — The Colchester Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a group of individuals that are believed to be involved in a larceny from person scheme and fraudulent use of stolen credit cards.
On Aug. 3, at approximately 1 p.m., Colchester Police responded to the Shaw’s supermarket at 66 Mountain View Drive, to investigate a larceny from a person report.
Preliminary investigation indicated an Asian and African American female worked in a coordinated effort to distract the victim and steal the victim’s wallet from the shopping cart.
Within approximately 15 minutes of stealing the wallet, the suspects used the victim’s credit cards at a different grocery store in a different town.
Several hours later, Colchester Police were notified by another victim that her purse was stolen at Market 32 in Burlington and her credit card was fraudulently used at a grocery store in Colchester.
Officers investigated the fraud complaint and determined the suspects are connected to the Shaw’s theft.
The suspects are believed to be traveling in a white newer model SUV.
If you recognize the suspects or have any information about this case, please contact Sergeant Victor Bitca at the Colchester Police Department by calling 802-264-5555.
