HIGHGATE — Vermont State Police arrested a 21-year-old Swanton man on an aggravated domestic assault charge Friday afternoon.
Police received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Shipyard Road in Highgate at approximately 3:59 p.m.
Troopers responded to the scene and determined that Michael Bouchard had committed aggravated domestic assault.
Bouchard had left the scene but was located shortly after in Swanton.
Troopers took Bouchard into custody and transported him to the St. Albans Barracks for processing.
He was issued a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on Aug. 4 at 1 p.m.
Vermont State Police does not release the names of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
