New York woman arrested on weapon, child endangerment charges

BLEECKER — State Police arrested Margaret E. Mulligan, 33, of Bleecker, for criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, menacing in the second degree, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the second degree.

Troopers responded to a home in Bleecker at about 1:02 p.m. July 23 for reports of a disturbance.

The investigation determined that during a verbal argument with two children under the age of 17, Mulligan allegedly displayed and threatened the juvenile victims who were known to her with a knife.

Further investigation discovered a firearm within the home which was seized.

The firearm was not displayed during the incident but was determined to be illegally possessed by Mulligan due to her history of a previous felony conviction.

Mulligan was arrested at the scene and transported to State Police Mayfield for processing.

She was then transported to the Fulton County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
