WEST SENECA — Three unidentified suspects, possibly juveniles, burglarized JGB Salon Suites on Seneca Street on July 13, according to a West Seneca Police Department report covering July 13-19.

The suspects were captured on surveillance video forcefully pulling on the exterior door until the locking mechanism was broken, then entering the building.

It did not appear that they stole or damaged anything once inside, police said.

A 26-year-old West Seneca man was arrested for drunk driving following a traffic stop on Union Road on July 13.

An officer pulled the vehicle over after watching it fail to maintain its lane and swerve repeatedly onto the shoulder.

The driver admitted to having been drinking at the Queen of Heaven Carnival and performed poorly on field sobriety tests, but refused to give a preliminary breath sample.

He was charged with DWI.

A 26-year-old Eden man was arrested July 14 following an incident on Azalea Drive in which he allegedly damaged a vehicle.

The victims had earlier observed a drone flying over their property and assumed it was connected to the Azalea address because they had had difficulties with the residents there in the past.

One victim said she drove over to confront the offender, who spit on and punched the side of her vehicle, putting dents in it.

Officers observed the dents and saliva still on the side of the car.

The offender admitted to spitting on the car but denied punching it, claiming the dents must have been caused by something else.

He was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree and released on an appearance ticket.

An unidentified male suspect stole approximately $100 in merchandise from the Dollar General at the Seneca Ridge Plaza on July 14.

Employees observed him jump into the passenger seat of a black SUV, which then fled.

Using nearby traffic cameras, officers identified a possible matching vehicle and its associated owner.

Unknown suspects burglarized Hearty House on Clinton Street overnight July 14-15.

The building owner reported that when workers arrived to open for the morning, they observed a bathroom window open and shelves that had been partially blocking the window were shoved off to one side.

It did not appear that anything inside was damaged or stolen.

A 33-year-old West Seneca woman was arrested July 15 following an incident at Centennial Park.

Witnesses reported they saw a woman “being aggressive” with her son and repeatedly walking away from him, leaving him alone on the playground.

While officers were speaking with the woman, they discovered there was an outstanding warrant for her arrest in Amherst on numerous charges including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Petit Larceny.

She was taken into custody and turned over to Amherst Police.

The seven-year-old child’s father took care and custody of him.

An Inter Drive resident reported unknown suspects stole her vehicle out of her driveway overnight July 15-16, possibly with one of the key fobs left inside.

Also inside were her driver’s license, a credit card and a debit card.

The vehicle was located in Buffalo just a few hours later.

Witnesses reported to Buffalo Police that they saw four juveniles running from the car.

A Cove Hollow resident reported unknown suspects accessed one of his investment accounts and scammed him out of $15,000 on July 16.

Discovering he was locked out of his account, he called what he believed to be a customer service number for the brokerage firm and spoke to a “representative” who instructed him to change his password, make a series of “dummy transactions” and buy/sell $5,000 worth of Bitcoin.

The victim complied, later realizing he’d been scammed.

A Bellwood Avenue resident reported unknown suspects stole his car from his driveway overnight July 16-17.

It had been locked, but pieces of the broken door locking mechanism were observed lying on the pavement where the car had been parked.

The car was found two days later, abandoned in a parking lot in Buffalo.

A Kirkwood Drive resident reported July 17 he was receiving threatening text messages from an unknown person.

The complainant said he’d called an escort service, which he subsequently decided not to use, but was now receiving texts from a number he did not recognize.
