MASSENA — Members of the New York State Police arrested Chad M. McGregor, age 45, of Massena on July 24.

He was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, tampering with physical evidence, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, and receiving multiple vehicle and traffic tickets.

On July 23 at approximately 8:32 p.m., troopers observed a black 2007 Suzuki motorcycle on East Orvis Street in the village of Massena.

The trooper recognized the operator as McGregor, who is known to have neither a valid driver’s license nor a motorcycle license.

The trooper attempted to stop the motorcycle, but McGregor did not comply.

As troopers pursued McGregor onto Pontoon Bridge Road, he began throwing items from his pockets onto the roadway.

He eventually stopped his motorcycle on County Route 43, where he was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the items McGregor discarded revealed narcotics and drug paraphernalia, which were collected and identified.

McGregor was arrested and processed at SP Massena.

He was released on appearance tickets, which require him to return to the Town of Massena Court for a later date in August.
