Mayville drug investigation leads to 2 arrests, weapons seizure

MAYVILLE — A narcotics investigation Tuesday led to the execution of a search warrant at 115 W. Lake Road.

Investigators from Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, and the Dunkirk Police Department had received information that persons staying in room 206 were in possession of narcotics.

Investigators obtained and executed a search warrant on room 206.

Located in the room at the time of the search were Glen Barrett and Chelsie Paulk.

A search of the room resulted in the seizure of 3 grams of methamphetamine, 12.3 grams of fentanyl, 28.6 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 62 dosage units of suboxone, 58 grams of alprazolam, .6 grams of cocaine, a .22 cal. handgun, a .38 cal. handgun, scales and packaging material and $582 in U.S. currency.

Barrett was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.

Paulk was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.

Both suspects were transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.
