PENN YAN — Penn Yan Police arrested Karl Norman K. Tashjian IV, 36, of Rochester after responding to a report of a person sleeping in a vehicle at a local business with the vehicle positioned on a curb.
Officers contacted Tashjian, who showed multiple signs of intoxication.
Police administered a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which Tashjian failed.
He was taken into custody and transported to Yates County Jail, where a breath test recorded his blood alcohol content at 0.14%.
Tashjian was then processed at the Penn Yan Police Department and released with tickets.
He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated-Common Law, Driving While Intoxicated .08 or More of Alcohol, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and Parking in Off-Street Handicapped Zone.
Tashjian is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
