Penn yan man arrested in two separate beer thefts

PENN YAN — David A. Jensen, 57, of Penn Yan, was arrested by Penn Yan Police on July 23 for his involvement in two separate larceny incidents at a local business.

Police said they received a complaint that Jensen had entered the business and stolen a 15-pack of beer before leaving without paying.

The business further reported that a similar incident involving Jensen occurred at the same location on July 12.

Officers subsequently located Jensen in a vehicle on Carpenter Lane with the stolen beer.

Authorities stated that Jensen had previously been banned from the business in May 2022 after he was found stealing beer from the premises.

Jensen was taken into custody and processed at the Penn Yan Police Department.

He was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal trespass, two counts of petit larceny, two counts of third-degree burglary, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Jensen was transported to the Yates County Jail to be held for Centralized Arraignment.
