CANTON — New York State Police arrested Tracy N. Fifield, 50, of Canton, on July 22 for grand larceny in the third degree and first-degree identity theft.
The investigation began on Jan. 8 at approximately 12:54 p.m., when New York State Police members started investigating a fraud complaint.
An investigation determined that Fifield had been hired as a home healthcare aide to the victim.
During her employment, Fifield was responsible for the victim’s daily care, which included paying bills and managing checks.
Over the two years that Fifield worked for the victim, she stole approximately $8,037 by using the victim’s credit cards and accounts for her personal expenses.
Fifield was arrested and processed at the State Police station in Canton.
She was arraigned in the Town of Pierrepont Court, where she was released on her own recognizance.
