Man arrested on I-89 for suspected drug impairment, resisting arrest in Randolph

RANDOLPH — Vermont State Police arrested a 43-year-old Lebanon, New Hampshire man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and resisting arrest Sunday morning on Interstate 89.

Troopers were notified at 11:38 a.m. about an erratic driver on I-89 north between exits 2 and 3.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near Exit 4 for an observed motor vehicle violation.

The operator was identified as John Hueg Jr., 43, of Lebanon, New Hampshire.

During the stop, Hueg displayed indicators of impairment, police said.

Hueg refused to be handcuffed during the arrest process, and a use of force occurred, according to police.

No injuries were sustained to Hueg or the arresting troopers.

Hueg was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI-drug and resisting arrest.

He was transported to the Royalton State Police Barracks where he was issued a citation.

Hueg is scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Orange Criminal Division.

He was released to a sober party.
