RICHFIELD SPRINGS — New York State Police arrested Kyle J. Packer, 34, of Oneonta on July 15 at approximately 8:50 a.m. on an arrest warrant.
Packer was charged with the class C felony of burglary in the second degree and the class E felony of criminal contempt in the first degree.
He was additionally charged with the misdemeanors of unlawful fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
The charges stem from a June 12 domestic dispute at a private residence in the town of Edmeston where Packer violated an order of protection, unlawfully entered a home and struck a victim.
Packer left the residence prior to the trooper’s arrival.
Troopers continued to search for Packer and located him on June 24 in the town of New Berlin, where he fled on a farm tractor traveling up a hill and later into a wooded area.
A trooper observed Packer on July 15 in the town of Columbia and ultimately located him hiding on a shelf behind several items in a garage.
Packer was taken into custody and transported to State Police Richfield Springs where he was processed then transported to the Otsego County Jail for centralized arraignment.
