Bath police arrest 2 on drug charges after disturbance call

BATH — The Village of Bath Police Department was dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in Colonial Lawns on July 13 at approximately 11:20 p.m.

During the course of the investigation, multiple items of drug paraphernalia were seen in plain view throughout the residence.

Four occupants of the residence were detained while a search of the residence was conducted.

As a result, officers recovered a quantity of fentanyl and numerous items used in the packaging and sales of narcotics.

Travis J. Carlton, age 26, of Bath, and Jennifer L. Benson, age 31, of Addison, were arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony, and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

The other two occupants of the residence were released.

Carlton and Benson were processed and transported to Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment where they were released.
