Bath police seize methamphetamine in drug raid

BATH — Members of the Village of Bath Police Department executed a no-knock search warrant at a residence on Casey Lane July 9 at approximately 8:30 p.m. in relation to an investigation into the possession and sales of narcotics in the village.

During the search warrant, officers seized approximately two ounces of methamphetamine that was intended to be illegally distributed in Bath.

Officers also located and seized numerous items of drug packaging and sales materials, controlled substances and other relevant evidence.

Shane M. Cummings, age 31, of Bath, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 2nd degree, a Class A-II felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a Class E felony.

Two additional occupants of the residence were detained pursuant to the investigation and were later released.

Cummings was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail where he was arraigned and released.
